FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
We have machinery that covers all your requirements. Including excavator and tractor to clear vegetation from farms, or carry out track maintenance and culvert clearing.
-
With it’s extendable tracks and low centre of gravity, the Green Climber can work on slopes up to 50 degrees – in all directions!
The engine is designed to run smoothly at these angles and it incorporates an automatic braking system to keep it from slipping on the steep slopes. There aren’t many places the remote control mulcher the Green Climber can’t get to.
-
Yes! The the remote control mulcher is designed to go up slopes that human operated mowers cannot access. The Green Climber is an all terrain mower that can work effectively in environments that are unsafe for humans to be in.
Conventional machines rely on an operator to be on board, resulting in putting your personnel or contractors at risk of serious harm or incident.
-
Yes! The remote control mulcher can be operated from the safety of a vehicle. This potentially takes away the need for costly and complicated traffic control systems on busy roads.
Added to this, the mulcher mowing heads are fully enclosed, meaning minimal discharge of debris.
-
Up to 150mm in diameter. The all terrain mower is perfect for clearing thick noxious weeds, trees and aggressive regrowth.
-
Compared to other excavators, the Green Climber has a reduced impact, due to the expandable tracks and low height along with reduced operating weight.
It is also compact and agile, minimising the chance of not being able to access an area or tear up the pasture.
WHY MULCH?
WE ARE ASKED FREQUENTLY, SHOULD I GET THE AREA SPRAYED FIRST AND THEN GET IT MULCHED?
Often we are asked to clear vegetation that covers a large area, and/or the land to be restored is heavily overgrown with blackberry, gorse or other noxious growth.
In the above situation, spraying would require large-scale spray applications. This can add additional cost and time to the vegetation removal process. Generally the area will also be inaccessible without the correct (and often costly) equipment.
With mulching, a pre-spray is not required. The all-terrain mulcher or large tractor mulching machines knock the vegetation down, and mulch it into small fragments to create a layer of decomposing material across the surface.
WILL THERE BE UNSIGHTLY PILES OF VEGETATION ?
As all the vegetation has been mulched, there are no unsightly log piles or windrows of vegetation. Each plant is mulched in the position it was growing, meaning the mulch is evenly spread.
The newly cleared area can then be accessed easily with any regrowth being spot sprayed to keep under control. This will usually take place within one or two months when the regrowth is most susceptible to sprays and usually requires one to two applications.
This method of land clearance has been preferred by most of our clients as it works out to be the most cost effective and fastest option to clear vegetation and prepare land for planting/sewing.
SHOULD I BURN GORSE?
All good gorse removal contractors will tell you that burning gorse can spread the seeds widely and help them germinate faster. So burning is not a good method for gorse removal. A sustainable alternative is to mulch the gorse (and other noxious vegetation), as mulching will help replace nitrogen in the soil. Any noxious vegetation regrowth can be spot-sprayed as required.
